I am in support of the 'Just a Card' campaign by Sarah Hamilton which aims ' to encourage people to buy from Designer/Makers and Independent Galleries and Shops by reinforcing the message that all purchases, however small, even 'just a card' are so vital to the prosperity and survival of small businesses.'
Woodland and trees are proving a popular theme. Just sold the new brightly coloured Autumn Woodland at the Sussex Guild Horsham Show this weekend. Lichen Niche which was a brand new artwork sold too. Overall a good weekend meeting art lovers and catching up with Guild members at the first show of the year. Back to work now creating a new commission and some new pieces for West Dean.
I am exhibiting my work at the Sussex Guild show 7th - 8th April at Parkside (District Council Building) Chart Way, Horsham RH12 1RL
Looking forward to meeting lots of textile and art lovers!
This is my latest embroidery which is from an image taken in my late mother's garden of moss covered pebbles. It combines two favourite themes of mine pebbles and lichens and moss!
I have used machine and hand embroidery to complete this quilted silk piece. I will be taking this to my next show with the Sussex Guild at Horsham 7th -8th April.
I have completed the embroidery Autumnal Woodland which is my latest using images I took whilst walking in Slindon Woods. The colour palette is a new one for me and will be interested to see how it is received when I take it to my next show at Horsham in April. The image is a close up of the embroidery which can be seen on my home page.
